Turkish Delight, A Story To Blow Your Mind from ConfidenceCourses.net
Today I heard a story that blew my mind and confirmed my every hope.
It was a story of an audacious God who acts in power as he sees fit, in ways that are so unpredictable that this particular story simply cannot be made up. The signs he has left can only point to Him.
If you have read this blog before you will know that it is about personal development and about a coaching course which I lead and help deliver in the heart of beleaguered, urban Southend-on-sea. The course helps people change their lives, and each month we make inroads into the lives of some and leave the seeds of profound change in others.
Four days per week we also run The Storehouse, a food bank and community café to serve the homeless, poor, deprived and rejected of the town. The Storehouse must surely be the most busy food bank and community outreach in Essex, and quite possibly the whole of the South East of England.
This blog regularly tells you about our confidence courses and offers you information gleaned and exercises for your transformation, but today I am being even more open with you, more outright than ever before – because to otherwise would be to do you a disservice. I risk alienating some of you who rule out the existence of a Divine creator. Much personal development information out there steers well clear of ‘faith,’ but if I am to give you the complete truth then it is worth the risk.
This story illustrates just who is the source of complete and all-powerful life change.
I write this to give you the truth as it has been revealed to me today.
10 days ago a man who went to Turkey as a non-believer found that it was time for his life to be turned upside down.
He was with a friend. They were on a business trip. I will briefly summarise his tale:
This man travelled to Turkey on a very sensible business trip with his friend. On day one in Turkey he spoke to a local man in a bar. He told his English friend that he knew the man, but his friend scoffed that this wasn’t possible. “I do know him,” said the man, and set about proving it. He asked the man if he had angel wings tattooed on his back. Promptly the man turned his body and lifted his t-shirt to reveal the very tattoo the Englishman had described. This happened in a bar. The Landlord said “How did you do that?”
“Do what?”
“That man doesn’t speak any English at all. He only understands yes and no.” said the Landlord. But this man had understood and obeyed every word the Englishman said. Later that day, as they were talking to the Turkish Landlord, the intuitive Englishman asked the landlord about his Lemon Tree. The Landlord became suddenly quiet and emotional. He changed the subject.
It was clear that something was going on. Something amazing was happening to this Englishman in Turkey.
He went away with his friend. His friend told him about Jesus, and he accepted Jesus into his Life. Moments later, the new believer said. “Come on. I must go here, this way,” and led his friend towards a quayside.
His friend assured him there was nothing that way, and reluctantly followed. But there was something: children playing, ready to dive into the clear cool seawater. The children beckoned the Englishmen towards them.
“What, me?” asked one of the Englishmen.
The children said No. They wanted the new believer with them. They called him and told him to get into the water. Obedient to the calling of a powerful new force, the new voice in his life, the man stripped down to his trunks.
The kids told him to dive in with them. Knowing by now that this meeting and these instructions were from none other but God, he followed and dived into the cool Turkish sea. Upon surfacing, the children asked ‘How old are you?’ Imagine – such a question in any other context could not make sense, but here it was made perfectly sensible. This was a new dawn, a momentous transformation beyond all others, with God directly at the centre of events. This was a baptism. There was only one answer this man could give.
“ZERO!” He was zero – newborn – new and innocent once again. This man knew he had been reborn. He says the feelings he felt as he swam in that sea in those fresh new minutes were the best he had ever experienced in life. The man later that day went back to the bar. He learned that the lemon tree was a memorial to the landlord’s deceased daughter. And shortly after browsing through a newspaper, discussing the stories inside within his friend, it was pointed out to him that the newspaper was in Turkish – a language he could not understand in the least!
In one day God had revealed himself through miracles, signs, wonders, interpretation of foreign languages, amazing insights and divine appointments. Much more happened on this trip than I can relate to you now, and all of it was amazing. All of it was witnessed. All of these events are real and reported to you because they simply blew me away.
Sitting in The Storehouse Community Cafe today listening to this very man describe theses events we experiened the sense was of listening to an undeniable, incredible story, a story that was sealed by a witness It is a story authored by God and told through a man in close communion with him.
As he shared his tale, he recalled that God had told him three things which he gave to us in turn. And now I share these pearls with you.
That his life was to be an adventure.
That he was not to hurry, but to be patient to let things unfold – not to chase and strive.
And he was told ‘Don’t Expect the Worst.’
Today as this humble man told these things – I knew – I felt – I believed – that these words were for each and every person sitting in that room. I was filled with excitement – I felt like a gong which had been struck was was still reverberating. I was in awe, ecstasy and excitement.
The message he shared flowed out to people in the room and touched them in different ways. This was a message that changed lives on Friday 17th August 2012.
To me, I already knew that life was to be an adventure. And so is yours. Your life is a beautiful adventure from which you are to make the very most.
The message not to hurry was been given me time and again, and today alone I have received it from three very different sources. I encourage you also not to hurry, but to know there is more than enough time to do what is to be done in your life. Move with ease and see your life unfold with peace and calm.
And, in tune with the messages shared on our confidence courses, Do not expect the worst, for if you do, you may receive it. The famous personal development/NLP message that you ‘get what you focus on’ has been sealed today by God. Instead I can recommend in confidence that you can expect that a Glorious amazing God is watching over you, and wants the best for your life. Because this is true. It has been proven so today.
I do not say any of this pompously, piously or for your conversion to religion. This is not my aim. My aim is to give you every chance of releasing the very best possible life you can have. Everything you need is truly all within you and God-given. And now it is my great pleasure in telling you that I now have an absolute faith in the Creator, and I know what he will do for you will be amazing. He will make you new. He will empower you. He will turn your life around. He will take you on an adventure that will thrill you and inspire others. He will help you release and use your talents.
If only you will let him. He is coming for you – to change you, to liberate you, to revamp your life.
And if you resist him, you will only delay the amazing things He has in mind for you.
I hope you do not mind what I am sharing with you today. I have given you all I have to give. I believe it is more than enough to change your life. Drink it in. Let your own new adventure begin.
